Can anyone advise on setting up a simple spread sheet for self employed earnings?

I will have minimal out goings and a wage coming in, thats all.Can anyone advise on setting up a simple spread sheet for self employed earnings?
If you sign up for a business account at Lloyds (as I did) I was given a free copy of Dosh accounts. Very simple to use and accountants are happy with the results. I did use a spreadsheet I purchased from ebay - it was very good but the report aspect for accountancy requirements was lacking. If you are going excel route, ebay is best place to look.Can anyone advise on setting up a simple spread sheet for self employed earnings?

Insert your income under one column. Then have separate columns for materials, transport, rent etc., (depending on the type of business you run.





Each week check your totals and balance the outgoings against the income. You may not show a profit every week, but once you have completed a couple of months you should see a pattern emerging that should give you an indication of your progress (or lack of it).
